Henri Nicollier, after discovering Mignet's famous book "Sport de l'Air", plans to build an aeroplane at the age of 16. His choice was a single-seater all in wood, with curved shapes, which would become the Ménestrel. The F-PKXO prototype will make its first flight in Thise on November 25th 1962.
The HN 433 "Ménestrel" will also be amateur-built in 6 copies. Among the builders, two of their work buddies, Bernard Cintrat and Jean Claude Afflard, will build the N°37-PYJZ and 43-PYKA. This model in progress is the F-PYKA of Jean-Claude who has very kindly participated in the project by providing me with all the documents relating to this aircraft

 Following the same path, and the same principles, Henri Nicollier was able to transform his single-seater HN 433 into an HN-434 and then into a two-seater, while retaining the lines of the single-seater so much appreciated by amateurs. Thus was born the HN 700 Ménestrel II.

"Jojo", the famous Beechcraft Twin-Bonanza built in 1956 in the workshops of Wichita Kansas that once belonged to Jacques Brel, who had come to retire from the world in this remote island of the Marquesas. Jacques was known to the population, not for his songs, but for the many services he rendered with his plane.
